The following products are offered on the market in a bewildering variety of guises and names. Over the years we have honed our selection to give you a simple and affordable selection from stock. Whether stone or terracotta, sealing and maintenance is easy as long as the initial guidelines we suggest are followed. We offer a simple to follow product sheet covering fixing and sealing, based on our experience as fixers (before the kness gave out) together with recommendations from Lithofin, our flooring maintenance supplier.

Slate - for floors and walls offered in the most popular colours:

• Chinese Black - 300x300mm and 600x400mm (even riven texture with relatively consistent calibration)
• Chinise Rustic - is our most popular slate exhibiting lots of rusty colours over a green/grey body. Stocked in 300x300, 400x400 & 600x400mm, it is often laid in a combination of these three sizes.
• Indian Summer - a silky slate with purple, grey and green shales, 300x300mm.

Terracotta: 12" x 12" Saltillo from Mexico is still a mainstay. This hand-made, ever popular, smooth but rustic tile exhibits small chips, cracks and pitting (lime-pops). We have been using Saltillo for many years and have available our recommendations for fixing, sealing and maintenance. Best primed with boiled linseed oil. Has even been used successfully outside on patios without sealing!

Izmir Limestone - an oatmeal biscuit coloured stone; presently stocked in a honed, sawn edge, unfilled format in a variety of sizes. Equally attractive as a wall cladding as it is for flooring. More varieties available soon

Tumbled Marble - we currently stock mosaic in 15mm, 24mm and 48mm squares in 305x305 sheets, as well as 100mm & 300mm squares in a variety of colours and mixes. A truly universal stone for all kinds of applications: good enough for the Romans, good enough for us!

Polished Marble - we are presently investigating varieties and technical requirements for fixing.
