Natural Stone and Terracotta

The following products are offered on the market in a bewildering variety of guises and names. Over the years we have honed our selection to give you a simple and affordable selection from stock. Whether stone or terracotta, sealing and maintenance is easy as long as the initial guidelines we suggest are followed. We offer a simple to follow product sheet covering fixing and sealing, based on our experience as fixers (before the knees gave out) together with recommendations from Lithofin, our flooring maintenance supplier.

Slate - for floors and walls offered in the most popular colours:

Chinese Black - Stocked in 300x300mm, 400x400mm and 600x400mm (even riven texture with relatively consistent calibration)
Chinese Rustic - is our most popular slate exhibiting lots of rusty colours over a green/grey body. Stocked in 300x300, 400x400 & 600x400mm.

Both are often laid in a combination of these three sizes.

Terracotta: 12" x 12" Saltillo from Mexico is still a mainstay. This hand-made, ever popular, smooth but rustic tile exhibits small chips, cracks and pitting (lime-pops). We have been using Saltillo for many years and have available our recommendations for fixing, sealing and maintenance. Best primed with boiled linseed oil. Has even been used successfully outside on patios without sealing! Here shown with oak lattace.

Limestone & Travertines - We Stock a reliable core of stones including Honed & Filled, Brushed & Unfilled and Tumbled Tuscan; all in a variety of sizes. Available as individual or interlocking patterns. Providing the stone is sealed correctly on installation (we have a fixing guide) and receives some ongoing maintenance it will give many years of service.

Travertine tiles are equally suitable for both Walls and Floors in Bathrooms as well as Kitchens and Conservatories.

Tumbled Marble - Our core range of tumbled marble is stocked in depth sizing from 15x15mm mosaics to 600x400mm tiles and all sizes in between. Similar to Travertine but with a softer, lighter feel and is again quite robust. Within the mosaic sizes we also have several other colours available.

Polished Marble - Fine honing and polishing of Marble brings out the best of this stone. From stock we offer four colours as well as a further selection of sizes and colours to order.

Victorian Flooring - As a designated showroom for Original Style and Winchester Tiles we are able to offer a formidable range of Victorian Reproduction Floor Tiles. A design service is available.
